Kathleen Pequignot is originally from New York, where she began her art studies in traditional oil painting techniques at the Bethlehem Art Studio at the age of fourteen.
In 1985 Kathleen received a BA from Stetson University in Deland, Florida in Sociology. While attending Stetson, she studied art design, watercolors, acrylics, oils, drawing, and calligraphy with Fred Messersmith. In 2007 she obtained her Florida Teacher Certification in Art Education Grades K-12.
She began selling her art on the internet in 1998 through Ebay, Etsy, and local galleries and art fairs. Her abstract and floral images have been published by HomeGoods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Canson Papers, and other interior design companies.
She enjoys sketching from nature, experimenting with various mixed-media projects, keeping artist journals filled with design ideas, printmaking–including lino prints and monotypes, and plein air painting.
